Our team plays in the Scotland Road & District Junior Football League; games are played on Saturday morning’s at Everton Park Sports Centre.

Saturday 8th September 2007

Today is our first fixture; we have been training hard all summer and now is the time to put all the skills; flicks and tricks into practice.  We feel that we have a chance of winning the league here in Scottie Road League; therefore we are going to give it our best shot.

Today’s opponents are Carrisbrooke; we go into the game blind as we are the new team never having played before, we will be going up against well established teams and facing tough competition.

This was a hard fought fixture; yet we gained a lot from it; we learnt that we should not be afraid of the other teams as we dominated the game for so long and were just unlucky not to score.

The players are encouraged that we were strong even though we were beaten 3-0 there was no way that we were destroyed by a stronger side.

Our Man of the Match today was Ronan Gilmurray; these are voted for by the Referee’s

Today’s fixture see’s us take on Olympia; not too sure as to what standard these are, however knowing the manager of the older section we will face a strong opposition determined to win.

We have to get at the opposition straight from the whistle and try our hardest to unsettle them straight away, and try and gain an early advantage.

A superb strike from Francis Lee gave us the early lead our domination deserved; yet as expected Olympia came straight out in the second half, and ensured that our 1-0 win was hard fought; we recognise that if when we play them again we will be in for a tough game.

Well Done Everyone

Today’s Man of the Match goes to Daniel Stringer

With Francis Lee getting our first goal

Hoping now to capitalize on last weekends fantastic result we came up against a stronger opposition all round; yet for most of half the first half we were the better team.

Unable to make domination turn into goals a stronger second half showing by New Broadway gave us a valuable lesson in finishing and one that we will do well to remember.

A fine performance by the goalkeeper kept the score to only 5 when New Broadway in the second half could have hit us for more.  We need to remember the basics; but most of all not give up belief in ourselves.

 Let’s Keep Working Hard

With last weekends result being totally demoralizing work in training was all about team building and putting this into practice come match day.

Today we faced Custy Lee Jones; once again after a hard fought match came out second best, the most encouraging aspect of the game was the effort put in by each player.

Even though we are struggling to score; for much of the game we are on top, controlling the play and only losing our discipline once we have conceded the first goal.  By scoring the first goal we will put the opposition on the back foot and putting pressure on them.

Once again we lost a game that we controlled much of the first half; it is our lack of ability of scoring first that sees us lose games even though a goal by Francis Lee gave us something to work on we were unable to capitalise on domination chances going begging on numerous occasions.

Saturday 1st October 2007

This week saw us take on Belfry and many of the players recognised their team from playing for Bedford Primary School.

There was no way that they were any stronger than us; as we dominated a good entertaining match, with Thomas Murray outstanding in defence, being strong and disciplined against a well organised team.

Once again chances went begging missing a hatful of chances, James Murray having the benefit of many.  With each game it is obvious that the team is coming on strong each week and shortly we feel that someone is going to get a real thumping from SwapThelot.

It is pleasing to see that the players are feeling more comfortable with themselves and feel that they are getting better each week.

Today’s Man of the Match goes to two players

Anthony Quick and Thomas Murray

WELL DONE EVERYONE; KEEP UP THE HARD WORK
